Sucral UTM for viral transport

Our specimen transport medium product is named as Sucral UTM, which is intended for the collection and transport of clinical specimens containing viruses(COVID-19), chlamydia, mycoplasma etc. from the collection site to the testing laboratory. The test procedures for quality control are based upon the quality control methods described in CLSI M40-A2 and others.

Sucral UTM is provided in labeled screw-cap tubes designed for transport of the clinical sample. It is also supplied as a collection kit that comprises a package which contains two sterile specimen collection swabs if customer needs it.

This product is stable for 18 months at room temperature. Specimens in Sucral UTM are stable for 48 hours at room temperature.
This transport medium is certified as product-license number: IVD-20-1282 by the Korean FDA.

SWAB APPLICATORS

Our product, COVI-SWAB is a flocked swab features soft nylon fibers with a molded breakpoint that helps to easily break off the swabstick. This sterile swab is ideal for the collection of clinical specimens containing viruses with improved patient comfort.

This product is certified by Korean FDA, CE and FDA.

HOW TO USE UTM

Sucral UTM FOR SPECIMEN COLLECTION

• 1.Aseptically remove cap from tube
• 2.Aseptically collect specimens from nostril and oral epithelial cells using COVI-SWAB
  Applicator and then place them into Sucral UTM.
• 3.Replace cap to tube and close tightly
• 4.Label with appropriate patient information
• 5.Send to the laboratory for immediate analysis

HOW TO USE UTM

• 1.Wash hands and wear any personal protection equipment.
• 2.Open the sampling kit and remove the sterile swab form the package.
• 3.Tilt client's head back slightly ti straighten passages.
• 4.Insert the swab straightly into one nostil, not upwards, and horizontally into the nasopharynx until resistance is met. Rotate the swab 5 times
  and hold for 5-10 seconds to collect the sample.
• 5.Insert the swab into the virus transport medium and cut it at breakpoint.
• 6.Tighten the cap. Label bottles with patient's information and send the sample to a lab for testing.

• 1.Check the validity period of the transport medium when using the Sucral UTM.
• 2.After opening the wrapper, take samples using swab.
  When collecting samples, the collector should hold the top breakpoint of the swab. Never hold the bottom of
  the breakpoint marked on the swab during sample collection.
• 3.Open the patient's mouth and make an "Ah ~~" sound.
• 4.Hold the tongue depressors with one hand and press the tongue with the tongue depressors.
• 5.Hold sterile cotton swab in the other hand and turn 360 degrees from the throat wall to the swab three to
  four times. (If you touch the patient's Adam's apple, the patient will feel nauseous and should be avoided.) * Be careful because excessive force on the swab may break the swap stick (especially the breakpoint).
• 6.Place the sample swab into the transport medium and place the breakpoint at the entrance of the transport
  medium, break the swab using the transport medium cap and both hands, and tightly close the lid. (Be
  careful not to splash the contents of the transport medium when breaking the head of the swab.)
• 7.After closing the cap tightly, Shake to make the samples homogenous.
• 8.Write the sample name, customer information, date of collection, type of sample on the tube label.
• 9.Transport it to the examination room as soon as possible.
• 10.Oral epithelial cell DNA can be preserved at room temperature for more than a month.
